Shipping and Handling

Custom Prints

Each custom photographic print is closely inspected after printing to assure that all quality standards (see “Product Specifications”) have been met prior to preparing the photo for shipping to you, the customer. Throughout inspection and the entire packaging process, your print is handled only with gloved hands to guard against smears and/or finger prints being transferred to the print. Additionally, each print is enclosed in a protective, non-reactive plastic envelope. The print and protective envelope are then placed in an outer shipping envelope which is constructed of a thick cardboard material to prevent the contents from being damaged by folding or bending in shipment. Finally, one or more “Do Not Bend” labels are placed on the outer shipping container to alert the courier that the contents are delicate.

Custom Framed Products

NOTE: (Due to the weight, size and packaging requirements associated with shipping framed items safely and securely, in most cases it is possible to ship only one (1) framed product at a time. Consequently, if you are ordering more than one framed item, your order may incur one or more shipping charges. Every effort will be made, when feasible, to ship multiple items in an order in one shipping container.)

Custom Framed Prints from Ken’s Custom Prints and Frames are all literally custom made by Ken himself to high quality standards. Each framed product is handled with the greatest care in preparation for shipping. Only gloved hands are allowed to touch an item during this preparation. Once your item has passed its final inspection, it is packaged in a box specially designed for shipping delicate framed products. Each box has an air-filled, two inch heavy cardboard inner wall surrounding the frame itself. This provides both an air and cardboard buffer around each frame for maximum protection in the event of any rough handling in shipping. The container is likewise 5 1/2 to 6 inches deep providing ample space above and below the product for protective packing material. This packing material consists of an additional cardboard buffer layer above the frame for added protection of the glass, and air-pocket material above and below the item for further protection.
